What does the ideal bladder catheter look like? Which features does the ideal urinary catheter need? There are a huge number of different single-use catheters on the market today to choose from.
There is not one ideal single-use catheter for all. Our goal is to offer you a full range of catheter systems with distinct innovative features, for example the flexible Ergothan tip, the rounded catheter eyes, the gel lubrication or the hydrophilic catheter coating
Teleflex bladder catheters are available with different tips:
Our Ergothan tip is flexible and is designed to adapt to the urethral anatomy. It is designed to adjust to movement and glides easily and gently into the bladder. The conical shape enables a gentle insertion with minimal pressure on the sensitive urethral mucosa.
For the anatomically normal urethra the straight cylindrical Nelaton tip can be used.
The curved Tiemann tip is designed to provide a greater degree of control during catheterisation of the male urethra.
Our range covers intermittent gel-based and hydrophilic catheter systems:
Our hydrophilic coating is based on PVP (polyvinyl pyrrolidone) which ensures a fast and consistent hydration and offers excellent lubrication properties.
The water-soluble lubricant gel is integrated into the catheter system, so that the catheter is ready for use within seconds.
The urinary catheters of our intermittent catheter systems have all one feature in common: their eyes (the drainage holes) are designed to be gentle to the sensitive urethral mucosa.
The Soft Cat Eyes of the SafetyCat Catheter are softly rounded – not only on the outside but also on the inside.
The Flocath Catheter has gently rounded catheter eyes which are vertically cut and heat polished to help ensure, like the Soft Cat Eyes, that the catheterisation is as comfortable as possible.
